For all Katie's family & friends An Angel of Your Own - The Butterfly is back… I wondered if the snow had fallen while I lay asleep So I opened up the curtains to take a little peek No white stuff on the ground today, think I’ll go back to bed Then suddenly a little voice spoke to me and it said It’s me again, remember me? I visited last year I’ve come to help you smile again and bring some Christmas cheer This year’s been tough I know it has, not much to smile about Plenty of tears and sad, sad times of this I’m in no doubt As all around are making plans to celebrate in style The festive season’s here again but let’s just pause a while A brave, brave girl who’s in our thoughts, forever young she’ll be An inspiration to us all and now she’s been set free To party with the angels and our other absent friends I hear the wine is flowing and the fun times never end So you must do the same my dear, reach in that pocket deep For she is with you all around, even while you sleep So trim with decorations and a lovely big fir tree Don’t be afraid to laugh and smile, it’s what she’d want you see Now I must fly and leave for now, sometime I may return I’ve lots to do this time of year with other boys and girls And off she flew into the sky as free as she could be But left me smiling, my heart full of golden memories I’ll celebrate this festive time and remember not to moan Nothing needed atop my Christmas tree - I have an angel of my own Dawn Robinson December 2011
